Police and firefighters here at Hong Kong Polytechnic University have removed more than 4000 petrol bombs and Molotov cocktails. 

Now they're working their way through chemicals that the rioters used to make those weapons. Authorities say the campus is now safe enough to turn over to the university. 

CGTN's Jim Spellman spoke to some tourists in the school.


University officials are still working out what the next steps will be. This campus is nothing short of a disaster area. It will take days, weeks perhaps even months to restore this campus to normal.
