At least one person was killed and another injured in an oil pipeline explosion in Lagos on Thursday.

Video shows black smoke rising into the air in the village.

Many residents ran for safety.

Xinhua reports officials say the explosion was an accident. 

Nigerian online news site, Punch, reports a part of the pipe in Baruwa Swamp area of Lagos had been vandalized.
