Violent protests have stretched into the night in France in one of the biggest public sector strikes in decades.
So far, at least 87 protesters were arrested and the Eiffel Tower shut down.

Also, another statistic shows the evolution of the number of days not worked per 1,000 employees due to a strike in France from 2008 to 2016. There were 318 strike days per 1,000 employees in 2010, compared to 131 days not worked in 2016.
Data from the European Trade Union Institute shows the average days not worked between 2010 to 2017 is 125 days in France. The U.K. is 20 days and Belgium is 96 days.
