The unemployment rate in the United States decreased to 3.5% in November, with hiring at its highest level in the U.S. this year. The Labor Department released the report on Friday.
That report shows there were 266,000 jobs added last month. And wages rose a solid 3.1% in November compared with a year earlier.
Monthly job growth has picked up since summer. An average of 205,000 jobs added over the past three months, up from just 135,000 in July.
According to the report, the growth has reassured consumers the economy in the U.S. is expanding and incomes are still secure. The report said the consumer spending has become an important driver of growth as the trade conflicts started by the Trump administration led many businesses to cut their spending.
