Huawei’s chief financial officer has won a court battle to see more documents related to her arrest by Canadian law enforcement acting on an extradition request by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

A judge has asked Canada’s attorney general for evidence and documents from Meng Wanzhou’s detention, search and interrogation.

Meng was arrested on December 1, 2018 at Vancouver International Airport.

She is charged with bank fraud and accused of misleading the bank HSBC about Huawei Technologies’ business in Iran, according to Reuters.Meng is contesting her extradition.

According to Reuters, Meng's lawyers say the U.S. is “using it for economic and political gain and that she was unlawfully held, searched and interrogated by Canadian authorities acting for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.” They believe the documents about her arrest will show an abuse of process.
