Mexico will soon have the first 3D-printed neighborhood in the world.

Two houses have already been completed in Mexico's Tabasco state.

New Story, the nonprofit organization behind this neighborhood project, says 50 new houses will be built there by the end of 2020.

Developers say each 46-square-meter home takes about 24 hours of print time over several days to build.

The two-bedroom homes were designed with input from the families they were designed for, according to the nonprofit.

These are families in extreme poverty that have been living in makeshift shelters.

The nonprofit says the families chosen for this project were preselected based on need and the majority in this area are members of indigenous groups.

The master plan for the community includes parks, amenities and basic utilities.
