On Thursday, the U.K. Conservative Party, led by Boris Johnson, won a divisive vote in a special general election, gaining a comfortable majority in the House of Commons, and solidifying plans for a 2020 Brexit. 

Labour Party and its leader Jeremy Corbyn suffered major losses in the polls. With Corbyn planning to step down early next year, it remains unclear who will emerge to lead the party into the future. Here’s some of the online reaction from social media.
