The tallest digital Christmas tree in the U.S. is on display in Denver.

The tree is 33.5 meters tall (110 feet) and has 60,000 digital LED lights.

Denver is known as the Mile-High City, so the tree is aptly called the 'Mile High Tree’.
"We’ve got it programmed to two separate multi-cultural holiday music programs running every 15 minutes," said Ashley Geisheker, Spokesperson for Visit Denver.  "The lights play along with the music and it’s just a fun and really spectacular show. The programming on the tree is just stunning."

Brut Deluxe of Madrid designed the lighting.ILMEX Illumination, also in Spain, made the steel structure.

"They create structures like this and lighting displays all around the world in top cities like Dubai, New York City, Mexico City," Geisheker said. "And we’re really honored to have one of their displays here in Denver.

"The tree is 3 meters taller than the tree in New York’s Rockefeller Center.

It has a conical shape, and up to 140 people can go inside at any one time.

"With the number of lights on there, the designs they were able to put up, and the colors that you see, are just unlike anything that I’ve ever seen," Geisheker said.

The tree will light up Denver’s skyline nightly until the end of January.

"We wanted something to really serve as the centerpiece for all the amazing things we have going on throughout the city during the holidays. And we just wanted something to really anchor that and celebrate it," Geisheker said.
