All seven people were confirmed dead after a tour helicopter crashed in Kauai island of Hawaii, said federal investigators.

The remains of the victims along with the wreckage of the helicopter have been transferred for further investigation into the cause of the incident, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the National Transportation Safety Board of the United States.

The wreckage of the helicopter carrying seven people was found earlier last Friday.

Remains of six victims were recovered from the crash site. The search for the last person was temporarily suspended because of poor visibility caused by thick fog.

The helicopter, that belonged to Kauai-based tour operator Safari Helicopters, was reported missing on Thursday afternoon. Seven people were on board including one pilot and six passengers, two of them were children.

The crash site of the aircraft was confirmed in the area of Koke'e State Park located in the northwestern corner of the island, the Kauai Police Department said in a statement on its official Facebook page.

Safari Helicopters said they lost contact with the pilot when it was leaving the Waimea Canyon area, close to the crash site.
