Pakistani officials said many villagers were stranded by the avalanches in the Neelum Valley after heavy rain triggered flooding. Many other villagers were reported missing and feared dead as rescue missions began.
Rescuers extracted more than 50 people from the snow, while authorities worked to provide relief to locals as another spell of heavy snow is forecast to hit the region on Friday.
