Huawei Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou left her home in Vancouver today where she has been on house arrest for the past year to attend the first day of her extradition hearing.

Meng was arrested in December 2018 by Canadian officials at the request of the United States. The U.S. says she violated U.S. law for doing business with Iran.

Meng's lawyer argues that Canada has no such law against Iran which means she cannot be extradited.
