U.S. civil rights leader commemorated on Martin Luther King Day

People across the United States marked the 25th Martin Luther King Day of Service. 

It commemorates the life of the civil rights leader, who was assassinated in 1968. Monday's events fall at a contradictory moment.  

While President Donald Trump touts historic low African American unemployment, surveys suggest race relations in the U.S are worsening.  

CGTN went to Anacostia, one of Washington DC's most famous African-American neighborhoods to ask people about issues confronting them.
