The new coronavirus identified in China has infected more than 6,000 people and killed more than 100.

Beyond its origin on the Chinese mainland, the virus has spread to Taiwan, Hong Kong and 15 foreign countries. Several countries are working to evacuate their citizens from the region.

Officials stress this new coronavirus is not SARS or MERS.

There is no vaccine or specific antiviral treatment for this coronavirus, but patients are advised to seek medical attention to relieve symptoms and help track the outbreak.
