Colombia's capital is trading in their cars and motorcycles for bikes and public transportation in the city's first "no car day" of 2020.
While no personal vehicles will be allowed on the roads of Bogotá, more taxis, buses and other methods of public transportation will be available to meet the demand of people, especially during rush hour.
The restriction will take place between 5am and 9pm today. If police catch a driver violating the "no car day policy", they'll be given a $438,000 peso fine.
It is estimated carbon dioxide emissions for the day will be reduced by nearly 12,325 tons, according to El Tiempo.
According to the Colombian newspaper tikitakas, an estimated 1,800,000 personal vehicles and 469,000 motorcycles will be kept off the streets.
The local government will also have a variety of activities around the city for commuters, like movies in the park for cyclists and games for children.
