A mass wedding defies coronavirus fears in South Korea

Thousands of couples attended a mass wedding held by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, also known as the Unification Church in South Korea. 

Church officials offered face masks and hand sanitizer to everyone due to the coronavirus outbreak.

About 30,000 people from 64 countries, including 6,000 new couples getting married, attended the ceremony.

All attendees were checked for coronavirus symptoms.

So far, South Korea has had 24 recorded coronavirus cases.

The event also celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founder's birthday, Sun Myung Moon who died in 2012.
