The People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Sunday organized warships and warplanes in a combat readiness patrol near the southeast of Taiwan Island, according to China's Ministry of National Defense's official Weibo account.

A day later, the PLA Eastern Theater Command's naval and air forces organized warships, bombers, fighters, and early-warning aircraft in a patrol on Monday where troops tested their joint operation capabilities.

The troops were determined and capable of crushing any "Taiwan secessionist" activities, resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits, said Senior Colonel Zhang Chunhui, a spokesperson for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command.

Zhang said the forces have always maintained a high level of alertness and have closely followed the situation to resolutely perform their functional mission.
