A medical anthropologist explains misconceptions about the coronavirus

The impact of COVID-19 goes beyond biological. There are numerous social and ethical impacts of the virus. CGTN talked to Medical Anthropologist Kate A. Mason, a professor at Brown University about rumors on how the coronavirus began, how Chinese in America are affect, and how Chinese medical professionals are under more pressure.


Mason is the author of "Infectious Change: Reinventing Chinese Public Health after an Epidemic" about the 2003 SARS epidemic after conducting fieldwork in southeastern China.
