Former U.S. Vice president Joe Biden moved closer to securing the Democratic nomination for President on Tuesday with victories in key states including Michigan. 

Beating out his rival Senator Bernie Sanders, Biden is now ahead in the race to take on U.S. President Donald Trump in the November election.
