In Chicago, Illinois, restaurants and bars remain closed due to concerns for the coronavirus.

Illinois Governor Governor J.B. Pritzker ordered closures after many still congregated at public places on St. Patrick's Day, despite government warnings to keep a social distance.

Restaurants can still open for takeout business.

As of Monday, the state has seen more than 1,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

CGTN Correspondent Liu Xiaoqian talked to some people about the situation in the city.

One small business employee said he wears a mask at the register but adds that they are very hard to get right now.

Another employee at the same liquor store said that he see no choice but to work, since it could mean a loss of business.

Despite the call for social distancing, people are still seen outside walking and jogging.

One grocery store has offered early shopping for the elderly, and limited butter, eggs, and milk to two items each per customer.

Several other U.S. states have also ordered the temporary closure of bars and restaurants.
