As hospitals across the United States brace for a surge in patients stricken with the coronavirus, several facilities are already experiencing shortages in essential medical supplies, as well as ventilators that some patients' lives may depend on.
But at the time of a world-wide slowdown in production, replenishing those supplies hasn't been easy.
Engineers and medical experts in California have been collaborating remotely, to combine their expertise with 3D printing technology to produce alternatives to the supplies that can be life-saving for health workers and patients alike.
