California now has more than 86,000 medical professionals signed up for its "California Health Corps”— many of them are actively working in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic across the state. 

While many of them continue to bear the risk of contracting the virus, a recently launched "lodging program" provides discounted or free accommodation so that healthcare workers can isolate themselves from their families, while staying closer to their patients.
