The U.S. surpassed 50,000 COVID-19 deaths on Friday.

As the virus continues to rage, health experts are also fighting misinformation and conspiracy theories surrounding the origins of coronavirus.

One of the conspiracy theories involves COVID-19 escaping from a lab in China.

Max Blumenthal, Founder of The Grayzone, an independent news website, says there is no evidence supporting this theory.

Blumenthal says the Trump administration continued to share this theory and blame China for COVID-19 despite having no evidence.
