During an interview with CGTN, Dr. Devra Davis, an epidemiologist advising governments and policymakers, said there hasn't been compelling evidence pointing to the origin of COVID-19 pandemic and more research is needed to confirm its cause.

Dr. Davis, who has worked with the World Health Organization and the United Nations, also dismissed claims that a lab in Wuhan deliberately released the pathogen.

Dr. Davis said the best way to determine how the virus spread is to allow international experts full and detailed access to public health information across the world's biggest powers, including China, the U.S. and the European Union.

She said most states in the U.S. are left on their own to acquire supplies from overseas and pointed to a lack of national coordination. She said the U.S. must work as one nation to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to give every state what it needs.
