Chinese Consulate in Chicago donated much needed PPE to a local hospital, Roseland Community Hospital. This after CGTN's correspondent Dan Williams visited the hospital to report on how doctors and nurses are saving lives of people fighting COVID-19 and also working with less PPE available to them.
Chicago's Consulate General, Zhao Jian, says they say the exclusive report and wished to contribute and help in any way they can.
"The medical staff, the hospital staffs they are working very hard and we are very touched by their story,"Zhao Jian said.
"The new Roseland community hospital in the far south-side of Chicago is an economically challenged organization," says Tim Egan, President and CEO of Roseland Community Hospital. So we don't have extra funds to be buying supplies so these donations have been a life - blood for us and our organization, to keep our employees on the frontlines fighting the battle against COVID-19."
Zhou Jian believes helping the ones in need strengthens China-U.S. bilateral ties and paves a way for togetherness in the fight towards COVID-19.
