Since the police killing of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, police departments across the U.S. and around the world have been under scrutiny over their interactions with African American people, and where and when they wield their power. Especially when it comes to using violence  and how their budgets might be cutting into other necessary social services for some communities.

While there has been a growing call for defunding and even dismantling police departments, some cities and countries are already taking steps to reform them.
