U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted a video on Friday that's baffling many.

The fake video was actually made by a Trump supporter known as Carpe Donktum.

CNN never reported the story in this way, but Trump's video makes it seem like they did.

Trump even credited Carpe Donktum, indicating he knew it wasn't by CNN.

Twitter marked the tweet as "manipulated media".

One of the boys' father wrote on Facebook that Trump used a loving video to "further his hate agenda".

Some question if Trump's tweet was a deliberate effort to confuse the public.
