Peru continues to battle with the coronavirus while the post-pandemic future looks increasingly bleak. 

Peru has surpassed Italy with more than 244,000 COVID-19 cases and ranks second only to Brazil in Latin America in number of infections.  

Since January, Peru's GDP has dropped by 13% along with reports of massive job losses.

The increasing unemployment caused poor families fear hunger more than COVID-19.
