The coronavirus pandemic has impacted the entire world, damaged fragile healthcare systems and forced governments to scramble for needed supplies and treatments. One major resource in short supply among poorer nations is oxygen.

While wealthier countries in North America and Europe have ample access to oxygen, many countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia are gasping for relief.

World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Wednesday WHO is working to help countries struggling to obtain medical oxygen to treat COVID-19 patients.
