In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Congress set aside $659 billion as a lifeline to hundreds of thousands of small businesses and organizations to stay afloat as the outbreak decimated much of the U.S. economy.

Three months after the Paycheck Protection Program began authorizing low-interest loans, critics are scrutinizing who got the money and how much.

While some of the major recipients have included fast food chains and private equity firms, other more controversial companies include celebrity clothing lines, megachurches and religious organizations, non-profits and more.
