Scaled-down hajj pilgrimage amid the coronavirus pandemic

The Hajj to Mecca, which begins Wednesday and annually welcomes around 2.5 million Muslim pilgrims, has been significantly scaled down by Saudi authorities to protect against COVID-19. Only 1000-10,000 pilgrims residing in the kingdom will be allowed to take the pilgrimage.
