A U.S. congressional hearing Friday on President Donald Trump's efforts to contain COVID-19 opened with a tough assessment. 

U.S. Congressman James Clyburn said the coronavirus is “raging out of control," while Trump sidelines the country's public health and science experts. 

Those experts were at the Capitol to give testimonies about government efforts to fight the coronavirus. 

The nation's top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, chose to strike a cautiously optimistic tone during his testimony.
