Australia's hard-hit Victoria state is now a declared disaster zone with new restrictions in place.

An evening curfew is in effect across Melbourne from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the next six weeks.

Wedding gatherings are banned, and schools are all back online. Victoria recorded 429 new coronavirus cases Sunday, down from 671 the day before.

Premier Daniel Andrews on Monday also announced a six-week shutdown of non-essential retail and manufacturing businesses.
