Chinese Americans react to coming ban on Chinese apps

U.S. President Donald Trump took action Thursday, effectively banning Chinese owners of messaging app WeChat and video-sharing app TikTok, His executive orders take effect in six weeks. 

The Trump administration says it is trying eliminate “untrusted” Chinese apps from U.S. digital networks that could pose a security threat to the U.S.

China says its companies comply with all U.S. laws and regulations and warns of possible "consequences" to follow.

“President Trump started with saying stuff like, you know, ‘Chinese virus’ and the ‘kung flu’ and now banning TikTok and WeChat... It's going down a path that is very harmful to the Asian communities. ” Leanna Louie, Chinese American said.
