Over the weekend, protesters hit the streets of Beirut, days after an explosion rocked a crucial port in Lebanon’s capital, killing nearly 200 and injuring about 6,000.

While Prime Minister Hassan Diab and the entire cabinet resigned on Monday, protesters still say there is a lot that needs to be done to rectify the problems facing the country.

CGTN spoke with one protester, Jad Abou Chacra, about what brought him out to protest and why it was essential for him and other people to be on the streets at this critical time.
