California Senator Kamala Harris made her first public appearance on Wednesday as U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's running mate.

A recent poll from the Economist/YouGov shows that more than two-thirds (68 percent) of registered Democratic voters have a favorable view of Harris, and more than half of Biden's supporters believe she will boost his chances to win the general election in November.
