As schools prepare to reopen in the United States, new data shows a spike in infections among U.S. children who were initially thought to be more immune from the virus. Hospitalizations, though rare, are also on the rise. 

The coronavirus was initially thought to largely spare children.  

But now the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns the rate of coronavirus cases among children has been steadily increasing
