A virtual political convention due to COVID-19 and a virtual nomination of the U.S. Democratic Party's presidential candidate from across the country.

On the second night of the U.S. Democratic Party's virtual convention, former Vice President Joe Biden officially became the party's nominee for president.

The coast-to-coast roll call took place entirely online due to the pandemic, instead of votes being shouted from a convention floor.

It highlighted America's diversity and those who support Biden as the next president.

That includes prominent Republicans like former Secretary of State and four-star general Colin Powell.
