For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rio de Janeiro’s top tourist attractions are open to visitors.

The government hopes to revive the tourism sector, but with nearly 3.5 million coronavirus cases – the second highest in the world – some are calling the move dangerous.
