China's Shenzhen works closely with Silicon Valley

August 26 marks the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) – the first of its kind in China.

Shenzhen is often hailed the "Silicon Valley of China".

Companies in San Francisco like Nura and Makeblock began with a combination of crowdfunding and venture capital investment that was born right out of Silicon Valley. But they are now examples of businesses that have grown into successful global operations with Shenzhen serving as the heart of their innovation base.
