U.S. Professional athletes are protesting the latest shooting of an unarmed Black man at the hands of police, by refusing to play.

Athletes from the National Basketball Association, National Hockey Association, Major League Baseball, and others have decided to halt games in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement.

In this exclusive interview, former NBA player, David West sits down with CGTN’s Mike Walter, to discuss the BLM movement in sports and his relationship with China and Chinese basketball.

As a professional basketball player, West has played in the U.S. and China, and he says how people in the U.S. are reacting to the Hong Kong protests and Black Lives Matter protests, is hypocritical. 

West also thinks U.S. media gives an unfair representation of China, which impacts how people perceive the country.
