Healthcare workers in Peru have been protesting unsafe working conditions, pay, and a lack of personal protective gear.

Wednesday police met them with aggression and water cannons. On same day, President Martin Vizcarra praised the countries healthcare workers.

Protests by health workers have become frequent throughout the pandemic.
