China's President Xi Jinping used his address to the United Nations General Assembly to highlight the need for renewed multilateralism in the wake of COVID-19, called for a 'Green' recovery in the global economy and stressed the need for great powers to act responsibly.

His recorded address followed one by U.S. President Donald Trump who continued to point the finger at China over COVID-19 and said countries should always put themselves first.
