U.S. airline industry facing worst job cuts after federal aid ends

Tens of thousands of U.S airline workers are being laid off this Thursday after an emergency COVID-19 lifeline ran out. 

The 25 billion dollar program kept paychecks flowing to employees as almost all air traffic was grounded when the pandemic hit. 

But lawmakers remain deadlocked over a second bailout program.
