The Mayor of New York is planning to reinstitute COVID-19 lockdowns in nine city neighborhoods. 

It comes amid spikes in the virus across the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.

The mayor says the nine areas have positivity rates of between three and eight percent for over seven days.  

They account for 20 percent of the virus in New York City but only 7 percent  of the population.
