What’s known as America’s past-time is taking a swing, at perhaps the key social issue in the United States now.

The world of professional sports has in many ways taken center stage –in one of the pressing issues of the day, Black Lives Matter.

The National Football League, and the National Basketball Association have had their brightest stars under bright lights trying to bring attention to what has become an incendiary topic.

As Major League Baseball prepares for its Fall Classic, the World Series, one bat maker is working with MLB in the name of racial unity.

"Baseball has the ability to unify us as a county, and that is what we are trying to do," said Joel Armbuster, CEO of Phoenix Bats.

There are some 30 to 40 companies that make baseball bats for the big leagues. The best known is Louisville Slugger.

Phoenix does not have a wealth of major league players on its roster. But the company could be a big hit, when it comes to baseball taking a stance on a hot button issue.
