Witnesses and human rights groups in Nigeria said several people were killed Tuesday after security forces opened fire on a protest at the Lekki-Ikoyi Toll Gate in Lagos.
There is a police blockade at the Lekki-Ikoyi toll gate Wednesday, where about 20 people, blocked by curfew, have been facing law enforcement since Tuesday.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited injured people at a hospital in Lagos and has said 25 people were wounded but only one person has died. People have been protesting in Lagos for two weeks against police brutality and the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
