Take a look at how people all over the world harvest the sun’s energy to create electricity. Solar panels create energy by absorbing sunlight with a system of photovoltaic cells which generate direct current (DC) energy. The DC energy is then converted into alternating current (AC) energy, which is what most households use, through an inverter. Excess electricity can be cycled back into the electric grid and stored for later.
