U.S. brands lose favor with Chinese consumers on Singles’ Day sales

This year marks Alibaba’s 11th Singles Day in China, an annual shopping event that has become the biggest in the world. 

Held on November 11th, or 11/11, Alibaba transformed an occasion to celebrate singlehood into an online shopping day like no other.

For retailers it could be a vital lifeline after the coronavirus hammered sales globally.

But ​for U.S. brands looking to score, there are indications Chinese consumers may be cooler to them this year.
