Indian doctors concerned Diwali could lead to Superspreader events

Doctors in the Indian capital of New Delhi are concerned that Hindu festival of Diwali, the biggest in India, will lead to Superspreader events as residents flock to busy market places and visitor sites for preparations. The 5-day Hindu festival of light starts this weekend.

The city of Delhi reported 8,593 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, its highest daily tally yet. India has so far reported over 8.6 million coronavirus infections, second only to the United States.
