A legal battle over the popular Chinese-owned social media platform, TikTok, continues in U.S. courts following executive orders by President Trump seeking to ban its use in the United States.

The latest hearing took place on Monday in a Washington D.C. appeals court. Under pressure from the U.S. government, TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance has been in talks for months to finalize a deal with the U.S.-based Oracle and Walmart.

Some experts argue the presidential transition could influence the multi-billion-dollar deal.
